What is Asarah B’Tevet?
 The
tenth day of the Hebrew month of Tevet, commemorates the Babylonian
siege of Jerusalem that ended with the destruction of the First Temple.
The walls were finally breached on Asara B’Tevet. This was the first
stage in the conquest of Jerusalem, that led to the exile of the Jews
from the Land of Israel.
