For
forty years the Jews wandered around the desert on their way from Egypt to
the Promised Land. They were always on the move, without any time to build
a real house. Instead they put up little shacks wherever they spent the
night. Everyone lived in these little huts, from Moshe, the leader, to the
poorest people. A long time has passed since the Jewish People wandered in
the desert, but once a year we remember what it was like when we left
Egypt.
